Parent Engagement Specialist Intern

The Parent Engagement Specialist Intern plays a vital role at Million Dollar Teacher Project. You will plan, organize and implement an appropriate outreach and engagement program to enhance communication between the parents of the students involved with the Classroom Support Team and the classroom/teacher. The Parent Engagement Specialist in this role should examine his/her attitudes towards and expectations of the parents and families.


The Million Dollar Teacher Project is a non-profit organization that’s mission is to empower teachers. Beginning with recognition and support, our long-term objective is to raise compensation for teachers. At MDTP we believe that “to create amazing students, we need amazing teachers” and we want to be a driving force behind supporting and retaining great educators. We are seeking hardworking, passionate interns who are looking to grow and develop both personally and professionally, all while making an impact on their community. 


  • Point of contact with parents
  • Write positive notes about students to send to parents
  • Call parents with good (or bad) news/information about student
  • Class Dojo- become a master of the program
  • Take pictures of students’ work
  • Upload it to Class Dojo program
  • Enter it into correct student profile
  • Assume the responsibility for handling confidential information
  • Participate in activities necessary to maintain classroom integration and to support in all curricula activities, which include classroom, community, vocational, and recreational/leisure.

  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings on sight

  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Assist in different aspects of classroom management 
  • Internship begins September 1st. and ends March 31st
  • Must be at least 16 years of age to apply
  • You do NOT have to be enrolled in school to apply
